Al Gore Sexual Assault Case Re-Opened

Al Gore is being investigated by the Portland, Oregon police department for sexual assault stemming from charges by massage therapist Molly Hagerty. A statement released Wednesday night stated: “The Portland Police Bureau has made the decision to re-open the case regarding the allegations brought forward against Mr. Al Gore.”
The allegations reference the charges by Hagerty — a 54-year-old grandmother and licensed massage therapist –that former Vice President Gore attacked her in a hotel room in 2006 when she refused to have sex with him.

Gore has not commented publicly no the case, which has come weeks after announcing he and wife Tipper Gore are splitting after 40 years of marriage.
Kalee Kreider, a Gore family spokesperson, responded to HUMAN EVENTS on Thursday stating: “Further investigation into this matter will only benefit Mr. Gore. The Gores cannot comment on every defamatory, misleading, and inaccurate story generated by tabloids. Mr. Gore unequivocally and emphatically denied this accusation when he first learned of its existence three years ago. He stands by that denial.”
Also, a source close to the family told The Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz that “Al Gore confirmed that he received a therapeutic massage in his hotel room that night, and likely from the therapist making the accusation.” The source also told Kurtz that, “Gore remembers getting a massage without incident and the therapist leaving on good terms.”

However, Hagerty told the police that when she “finally got away” from Gore’s hotel room, she felt “shaky and faint.” She said that “it was all I could do to keep from running out the lobby in terror.”
Gore’s former boss, President Bill Clinton, gave a grand jury the infamous explanation for his lying about an affair with Monica Lewinsky: “It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.”
So perhaps Al Gore’s defense against sexual assault charges by Hagerty will depend on what is the meaning of the phrase “good terms.”
